Montserrat is a Monastery and a Sanctuary where spirituality and culture come together against a spectacular natural backdrop

Culture

Their library has over 300.000 books. We have a choir school. There is a museum with paintings by artists such as El Greco, Picasso and Dalí.

There are even treasures from ancient Egypt, amongst which one of the most outstanding treasures is a mummy. Montserrat is culture.

Nature

A mountain mass combining very unusual shapes rises abruptly from the River Llobregat up to 1.236 m.

A unique ecological setting in the world. Montserrat is "the dream made mountain" (J.Carner). 

Was declared a Natural Park in 1987 so it would remain such a dream.

Spirituality

It all began when the first man observed the mysterious mountain forms.

It all began at the moment when, as the legend goes, the image of the Virgin was found in the Holy Grotto. Since the Monastery was founded... Montserrat has always been connected with spirituality.
