As we are approaching the third millenim a strange feeling arises.  The questions and problems we face today regarding the state of the world seem too big and difficult to deal with. At the same time this world seems small, with all the aspects of human life, nature and civilizations interconnected with and influencing each other.

Dane Rudhyar idea of the planetarization of the consciousness has spread across the world. An idea that encompasses the statement from classic wisdom “nothing that is human is alien to me” to the idea of an interdependent connection between all human beings as the foundation for an embracing vision of reality.

The complexity of the problems arised on our civilization´s surface not only affects the “way of life” of societies that shape it. They affect the existence of the human specie itself and even the survival of our own planet. It comes then the temptation for milenarism, the idea that something or somebody will ask for an explanation of how we have lived by threatening us with destruction.

Milenarism is and idea that survives through time and space, it is a product that sells. But in different markets, first it was in the religious market, now in the ecologist or in international politic one. Our preoccupation for the current crisis makes us ask many questions, but this preoccupation shows some light too with new ideas and actions too.  But there are background questions that lie on the consciousness of the existence of a crucial crisis of our civilization. Those questions not only suggest ecological, political, economical and scientific issues. “The XXI century will be spiritual and mystic or it won´t be” said a European scientific of the XX century. This phrase not only sounds good, its meaning is clear too. We just have to get its underlying thesis: problems the human being is facing through this transformations the future demands, are of an eminent spiritual nature.

The spirituality we need for this new millenium is visionary and practical at the same time. Then we need it to be inclusive, we need it to embrace all the dimensions of the human being, in all his spheres of his conscience and existence. We need this spirituality to break the limiting concepts of the human condition that lead to separation and unfinished conflicts. We need this concept to integrate scientific investigation and the intuition of poetry.  A concept that will open ways to justice and prosperity.

The search for this spirituality in the 21st century is the main task for those who are compromised to a transpersonal perception of the human being; Compromised with a transcendental conception of the human being, not limited to a materialistic view but a psychological perception. A spirituality that includes contemplation and action, man and group, which can not be developed ignoring the democratic organization of societies. As Europeans we contemplate as a very positive factor the current process of European integration. This is an unusual element in the world history and absolutely related to the planetarization of Consciousness.

In short: a spirituality leading to the evidence that the human being contains wholeness and it´s contained by it at the same time.
