Dear Friends of EUROTAS

The title of a conference is just like the frame of a painting: it only becomes beautiful when the painting arrives to fill it. That will happen when all the members of EUROTAS help to blend the exquisite colours that will harmoniously combine to create our “Tableau 2008”.

On October 29th as one of the delegates of the 25 associations forming EUROTAS, will enter the congress building EL PRAT in Barcelona, and at that moment you will find yourself entering the frame, the title and theme of the conference: THE PLANET, CULTURE AND CONSCIOUSNESS.

For the building it self is exactly what the conference wishes to express: the human being’s correct place and setting in the 21st century.

On the roof of the building you will find solar panels and solar hot water collectors, and on all floors channels for natural light. A large number of architectural features help to introduce the visitor to the latest developments in art and cultural life. The food is Spanish, at its delicious best. Every detail has been thought out with a high degree of consciousness, which our preparatory team was happy to discover. To the existing setting we shall add art works by our artist members and display books by authors belonging to our various associations.

That is the “frame”, and now all of us need to work together to produce the most exquisite “painting” to fill it. Hence our conference team requests all member associations to select their most inspiring transpersonal lecturers and workshop facilitators and let us have their names, with brief descriptions of their offerings. When we have a full list, we shall make our choices and issue the conference programme on April 30th.

We also strongly feel that EUROTAS is one big family, in which it is a joy to be together, to talk, eat, sing, learn, love, play, and to meditate. Therefore we have concluded that all members are equally responsible within the family and will pay the same conference fee. 

Some members with special talents will get the chance to offer a lecture or a workshop, as a privilege in the family where no-one sells a product for the other members to buy. Each one of us offers what we have, we listen and participate.

As a next point our committee considers is the Delegate Council Meeting.

The meeting of two delegates of each association is the cement which creates the cohesion between the members of EUROTAS.

There the future is planned and we want more than ever to use this meeting to work out what we can do together. We want to come with many new proposals with an emphasis on our idea of one big family. One of these proposals is training for transpersonal therapist for every association who wants this, supported as much as needed by the whole of EUROTAS, and many more proposals. The time is ripe.

So care to be there and share when you are a delegate. We start at  3pm Wednesday 29 October and go on till the next day when the conference starts at 4 pm.

During that time we expect to have contributed much for our future.

Please let us have your association’s offer of lectures and/or workshops before April 30th.

Let us know what art works and books by your members wish to make available.

Let us know your proposals for the agenda of the Delegate Council.
